going underground
Why can't London Underground talk English? Here are some of the worst offences.
"...and trains will be non-stopping there"
Since when was "non-stop" a verb? What's wrong with "...and trains will not stop there"?
"this train terminates at high barnet via charing cross"
Last time I checked, it was impossible to terminate via somewhere. You can travel via Charing Cross and terminate at High Barnet - but trying to do both simultaneously is bound to to lead to grammatical confusion.
"please use all available doors"
This is just plain silly. I've never needed to use more than one door to board a train. I'm interested to know how you could use more, let alone all the available ones. You'd be a bit of a show-off if you did.
"customers"
"I am the passenger. And I ride and I ride."
Iggy knows. We're passengers, not customers. By using this Orwellian doublespeak, they hope to persuade us that public transport is a business not a service...
...but we know better!
